This latest CD Seul au Piano includes eight original compositions presenting a very personal, modern and contemporary version of the jazz piano. What characterizes this CD is the intimate quality that emerges from the strong relationship between the solo artist and his piano. The result is what makes, Seul au Piano unique from his previous recording. It is this virtuoso pianist’s fifth recording under his own name and the seventeenth on his discography.

A student of renowned jazz singer Ranee Lee, Stéphanie Laliberté has performed extensively throughout Montreal and Québec city. Singning in a wide range of clubs and restaurant she has develop a mature and powerfull stage presence.

Photo de l'artisteBorn in Quebec City, Stéphanie Laliberté was introduced to onstage vocal performance through her studies in music at Cégep de Sainte-Foy and through three tours with the Crescendo Company in France and Switzerland. She is currently studying jazz at McGill University where she works, with such notable artists as Ranee Lee. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in music with a major in jazz interpretation, for which she received an Outstanding achievement in jazz voice acknowledgement, Stéphanie has made multiple appearances in some of the greatest spots for jazz in Quebec and Montreal. She regularly performs at the renowned Quebec Clarendon Hotel and the Montreal Queue de Cheval where she has begun a collaboration with the Geoff Lapp Trio. Currently teaching music and working as a backup vocalist, she still manages to be very present on the Montreal jazz scene.

Geoff Lapp PhotoGeoff Lapp, a Montreal native, was born in 1953, and is considered one of Canada’s most accomplished pianists/composers; he is a much sought-after accompanist for a host of top Canadian performers.

Originally trained in the classical tradition, Mr. Lapp studied at McGill University under the widely respected Art Maiste. Over time, he became known for his excellent technique and large repertoire of jazz standards. After gaining experience in the pop music world touring with the likes of Michel Pagliaro, he performed in salsa, country, funk and rock bands. In the early ‘80’s he became committed to the jazz idiom and has not looked back since then.
